If you are searching for coarse fishing near Bridgwater, you have come to the right place. The Sedges Fishery is a family-run venue in the heart of the Somerset Levels, offering three well-stocked lakes, friendly match fishing and comfortable on-site holidays — all just a few minutes from the M5. Here is your complete guide to fishing with us.

Where to find us

We are at River Lane, Dunwear, Bridgwater, Somerset, TA7 0AA, set in quiet countryside on the edge of town. The fishery is easy to reach from Bridgwater, Taunton and the wider West Country, and being close to junction 24 of the M5 makes us an easy day out for visiting anglers too. There is plenty of parking on site.

Three lakes, 64 pegs

Our three lakes each have their own character and offer something for every angler:

  • Tile Lake — hard-fighting carp and quality mixed fishing.
  • Brick Lake — another cracking carp and silverfish water.
  • Canal Lake — steady, beginner-friendly sport and a match favourite.

Between them they hold a superb head of carp, tench, bream, roach, rudd and skimmers, spread across 64 well-spaced pegs.

Day tickets and matches

Day-ticket fishing is simple: turn up and pay on the bank — no need to book. Just remember your Environment Agency rod licence if you are 13 or over. We also run popular open matches through the week, which are friendly, fair and well worth entering whether you are a seasoned match angler or trying your first. You can see recent winners and weights on our results page.

Stay and explore

Want to make more of your trip? Our on-site holiday caravans let you fish by day and relax by night, just a short walk from the water. And when you fancy a change of scene, some of Somerset’s best days out are close by — from Cheddar Gorge and historic Wells to the beaches of the West Somerset coast.

What to expect on site

We are a proper family-run fishery, and we pride ourselves on a warm welcome. You will find on-site parking, toilets and easy access to the lakes, plus a few simple rules that keep our fish healthy and the fishing good for everyone. If it is your first time, our guide for new anglers tells you everything you need to know.
