The Quantock Hills

30 min from The Sedges

England's first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – wonderful walking and sweeping views.

The Quantock Hills were England’s very first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and it’s easy to see why. This gentle ridge of heathland, ancient woodland and open combes offers some of the finest walking in Somerset, with sweeping views across to the coast and Exmoor.

Keep an eye out for the free-roaming Quantock ponies and red deer as you explore. The hills inspired the Romantic poets Wordsworth and Coleridge, and the long-distance Coleridge Way runs right through them – a paradise for walkers and nature lovers.
